Accept yourself for who you are

It’s important to love and accept yourself for who you are: the good, the bad, and the ugly.

This makes it especially important to not avoid the dark parts of yourself. Loving yourself necessarily depends upon knowing, understanding, and ultimately accepting yourself in all of your glory and warts.

However, if that is part of you, it is important to honor that instead of denying it. It is still there, even if you deny it. Learning to see the benefits of laziness, enjoying it and not letting it work against you will lead you to be able to embrace it as part of who you are, and to, therefore, love it. From love, you can move on to nurturing, to growing, developing, thriving and flourishing.

If you can’t accept yourself, you won’t believe that someone else can accept or love you. That is a tragedy that will make it difficult if not impossible to connect with others on a meaningful level.
